Have you ever come back from a skiing holiday...
- with renewed purpose and re-energised
- much clearer on what you need to do
- really excited about what's in store
- wanting to share your new discoveries with the world?
Well that's exactly what just happened for me on my last trip to the US.
Because while in the US, I was able to do three things...
1. Ski with Harald Harb and ask him these three questions and get his answers, which I have included below.
2. Check out the latest advances on how to take 15 years off your biological age to feel better, look younger and have the energy you need to get things done for more ski time and less work time! I’ll let you know all about how you can have the energy you need to get things done for more ski time in an email – tomorrow.
Ok, over to the Harald’s answers to the following questions.
Now before we begin...
If you ever get the chance to ski with Harald jump at it.
As it’s worth 10 times more than the US$950 a day he charges per day.
My experience with Harald is that he is a TRUE SKIING GENIUS.
In my opinion he is the BEST SKI COACH IN THE WORLD by a MILE!
So my first tip is… Spend as much time as you can with Harald, as your skiing will IMPROVE LEVELS no matter how good you are, he will ALWAYS find easy to follow and fun ways for you to IMPROVED FURTHER THAN YOU CAN EVEN IMAGINE.
So at the end of an AWSOME day’s skiing with Harald, I asked him these three questions.
Q 1) What Do You Think About While You Are Skiing?
A) Depends on where and what.
1. Groomers and carving I am thinking of higher angles and to tighten the angles at the bottom of the turn for fast transitions. If I don’t get it, I go back to basics on the first few runs.
2. My 2nd turn has to be the same speed as the last turn – speed control.
3. I ski in the same size corridor / width.
Q 2) What Is The Single Biggest Thing For Off Season Training? (Considering I Do A Lot Of Core Strength/ Gym/ Triathlon Etc) – Is It Tightropes?? Skiers Edge Or Anything Else?
A) Most people have lack of flexibility and lack of ability to separate body parts.
You can make improvements here via…
· Flex book
· Book 2
· Essentials
· New DVD’s
Learn how to do each skiing movement separately, independently and in combination and back again.
Bring the ram back up before you ski – otherwise the hard drive (bad habit) takes over. This concept is explained in book 2 on how to make changes to your skiing mindset.
Q 3) If There Was One Secret Between Expert And Great Expert What Would It Be?
A) Real top experts stay on the front of the ski longer and in all conditions and surfaces ice and bumps. (note: not powder / crud!)
They keep their feet behind the hips longer and get back their faster and recover quicker until the ski comes around in the bottom of the arc.
Storing energy in the front of the ski because it’s bent and digging – creates speed control – in a shorter radius - via ski bend. This leads to increased energy to release and more time in transitions.
By doing this you are buying time each and every turn.
Ends…
Okay, to get any of Harald’s ski improvement products visit his new online store at http://www.harbskisystems.com/ – Note I don’t get anything for telling you this about Harald’s website other than the satisfaction or receiving your success stories.
And make sure you check out Harald’s new 3 Essentials DVD’s. There are a must for any skier looking to improved rapidly.
From just one exercise, the last one on the Flexing and Fore / Aft Essential DVD I was able to recalibrate everything I do at the start of the turn. And the results for me were AMAZING. As I got so much more performance, control and confidence out of that one exercise / recalibration I was able to ski any run (except for bumps – I need to spend more time there) on auto pilot. This one tip alone, and there must be 80+ over the 3 DVD’s, will take two seconds off my race time – for sure. Which is good luck for me bad luck for my competitors!
Truly amazing.
Now if you would like to get your alignment sorted this season, you can visit us in Melbourne or book in for our ‘one and only’ Sydney skier alignment session for June. To register you interest, or book a place simply call or email me. Note: This is a one off event, we won’t be back to Sydney again in 2009.
And…
Tomorrow I will send you information on how you can take 15 years of your biological age to feel better, look younger and have the energy you need to get things done – so you can ski more and work less!!!
And finally…
Essential #5 – Counteracting: Why your edges lose grip, skis skid and what to do about it article is coming next month – promise!
